SAN DIEGO – All lanes in both directions on Interstate 15 at the State Route 76 interchange will be subject to closure from Sunday, April 21 to next Thursday, April 25, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to Caltrans. Construction crews will be removing the temporary wood and steel that was used to widen SR-76 over the freeway.
All motorists will be detoured to the SR-76 off-ramp and back to the I-15 on-ramp. SR-76 will remain open with flaggers directing traffic at the interchange. Changeable Message Signs will be placed in advance of the closure. Motorists may experience a delay will traveling through this area.
The work is part of the I-15/SR-76 Interchange Improvement Project that will connected to SR-76 East Project, which will start later this year to realign and widen the highway to four lanes.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and safely move over a lane when Caltrans or other emergency vehicles are displaying flashing amber lights. It's the law!
