Arrest made in North County burglary ring operation; some crimes took place in Fallbrook

According to San Diego County Sheriff's Dept. Sgt. Patrick Shannon, detectives from the Valley Center Substation, along with detectives from Encinitas, Poway, Vista, San Marcos, the Orange County Sheriff's Department, Carlsbad Police Dept., and Escondido Police Dept. served a search warrant today, Wed., October 30, at 15343 Vesper Road in Valley Center in connection with a burglary ring operating in North County.

The warrant was related to a burglary series involving numerous residential and vehicle burglaries.

"To date, several suspects have been identified based on physical evidence, recovered property, and investigative work," said Shannon. "These suspects have been linked to 21 cases in North County, including some cases in Fallbrook."

Shannon said the search warrant resulted in the recovery of numerous stolen items related to ongoing investigations and several items of suspected stolen property.

"Gabriella Vegara, 35 years, of Valley Center was arrested at the residence for possession of stolen property," said Shannon, who added that the investigation "is continuing into the thefts and the identification of additional victims."
