FALLBROOK – Textile paintings return to the Fallbrook Library, 124 S. Mission Rd., in a new fine art exhibit opening Friday, Nov. 9.
Curated by local artist Karen Cunagin, the show features fabric art from fourteen textile masters in the San Diego area: Charlotte Bird, Laura Bisanga, Karen Cunagin, Barbara Friedman, Michaelanne Gephart, Jill LeCroissett, Neida McComb, Gillian Moss, Janice Pennington, Mary Tabar, Ann Turley, Sandy Wasson, Sophia Wong and Valerie Shields.
The contemporary art nature of these pieces emphasizes design including surface techniques – painting, printing and discharge – as well as traditional and innovative stitching.
An opening night reception honoring the artists will be held in the library’s community room on Friday, Nov. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.
The exhibit runs through Jan. 3, 2013 and coincides with several other important art quilt shows this fall in the greater San Diego area. For more information on the library exhibit, go to
