Authorities respond to bomb threat at gym in Fallbrook

Shortly after 7 p.m. this evening, Thurs., May 1, law enforcement authorities responded to a bomb threat made at a fitness gym in Fallbrook.

After being notified of the threat, officers with the San Diego Sheriff's Dept. evacuated the building and quickly taped off a perimeter around Club Paradise on South Mission Road as well as surrounding driveways to keep the public and spectators at a safe distance while the the incident was being investigated.

The two entrances to the gym on South Mission Road were closed as well as both driveways to the Rite Aid drug store along South Mission Road. Rite Aid was still accessible through its Clemmens Lane entrance.

North County Fire was called to the area to be on standby.

At approximately 8:45 p.m., the Sheriff's Communication Center said a search of the premises had been conducted and no suspicious items were found. Authorities remain on the scene and are actively working the investigation into the threat.
