Dense fog advisory in effect until 9 am this morning

ORANGE COUNTY COASTAL AREAS-SAN DIEGO COUNTY COASTAL AREAS-SAN DIEGO COUNTY VALLEYS- The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a dense fog advisory which is in effect until 9 am this morning. Dense fog has developed over portions of the Orange County coastal areas and the higher coastal terrain and the far western valleys of San Diego County. Low clouds and fog are expected to continue through the morning commute…clearing by mid-morning.

Visibility…one-quarter mile or less at times.

Impacts…dense fog will make travel hazardous, including along portions of Interstates 405…5…8…805…and 15 and other area highways during the morning commute. Watch for sudden reductions in visibility-slow down and leave extra space between you and the car in front of you.

Outlook-areas of dense fog may redevelop tonight over portions of the Orange and San Diego County coastal areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions…

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down. Use low beam headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
