FALLBROOK – Soroptimist International of Fallbrook annually recognizes young women between the ages of 14 and 17 who volunteer to make the world a better place through their volunteer efforts in their communities or schools. A cash grant of $250 will be awarded, in honor of the winner, to their volunteer organization of choice.
Soroptimists also recognizes women who seek financial assistance to return to school through their Women’s Opportunity Award. The applicants must be the primary wage earners of their families and also be attending or have been accepted to an undergraduate degree or vocational skills training program. The recipient will receive a cash grant of $575 and then advance to the regional level, where one recipient will receive $5,000. The program culminates with three $10,000 finalist awards.
