Fallbrook’s Conover receives the Silver Star

TWENTYNINE PALMS – 1st Lt. Kenneth A. Conover of Fallbrook was awarded a Silver Star Medal during an awards ceremony held Feb. 18 at LCpl. Torrey L. Gray Field. Conover serves with the 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment.

Lt. Gen. John A. Toolan, 1 Marine Expeditionary Force Commanding General, presented Conover with the award.

It was stated that Conover received the award for his heroic actions, which embodied bold initiative, undaunted courage, and complete dedication to duty while deployed to Afghanistan in June of 2012.

    It is a privilege to live in any town with a military base attached.
    It is an honor to witness the leadership and courage of our Military in action as in the fine example shared here.
