FLC to launch first membership drive

Here’s an opportunity for all Fallbrookians who care about our lovely rural community and natural heritage: join the Fallbrook Land Conservancy! A membership drive will begin on Friday, March 4, and conclude Thursday, March 10. The goal is to try and double FLC’s active membership, which currently stands at over 600 members at various levels, and let everyone know about the nonprofit organization’s success as caretaker of Fallbrook’s open spaces over the past 17 years. FLC volunteers will meet prospective members at several locations, including the Village Square on Friday, March 4; Los Jilgueros preserve during the annual Tails on Trails event on Saturday, March 5; and outside Major Market in Fallbrook and Daniel’s Apple Market in Bonsall. All new members who join at a certain level will receive a button and small plant.

Megan Gamble, who heads the newly formed membership committee, notes that many members have supported the Fallbrook Land Conservancy since its inception. The Foli family, for instance, represents a cross-generational commitment. Billi and Vic Foli have been FLC members for over a decade. Son Mike and daughter-in-law Debi are active members, and daughter Fran is on the board of directors. Members of the younger generation have also put in their time helping with special events. All newcomers will be welcomed!
