Four arrested relating to armed robbery near Old Highway 395 and Lilac Road in Bonsall

The Sheriff's Dept. has reported that four individuals have been taken into custody in connection with an armed robbery that occurred yesterday, January 17, at about 5 p.m. in the vicinity of Old Highway 395 and Lilac Road in Bonsall.

Lt. Todd Richardson, commander of the Fallbrook Sheriff's substation, explained what took place.

"The victim reported that he was robbed at gunpoint of a large amount of cash by a couple of acquaintances, who he knew only by their first names," said Richardson. "Initially there were very few leads and suspect information."

Richardson said that later in the evening, the victim re-contacted the Fallbrook substation with additional information pertaining to the suspects.

"This information led investigators to the 400 block of Twin Palm Circle in Fallbrook," said Richardson. "Deputies were conducting a surveillance when they observed a vehicle speed from the location."

"A short vehicle pursuit followed and two suspects were ultimately stopped and arrested on the robbery charges," he said. "Other suspects fled on foot from the Twin Palm residence."

Richardson said Sheriff's ASTREA helicopter and Sheriff's canine units responded and "two other suspects were subsequently arrested near the residence."

"Much of the cash was recovered at the residence, also a quantity of marijuana and a handgun," he said. "The four suspects were later booked into the Vista Detention Facility on charges of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery."

No identities have been provided by law enforcement at this time.
