FALLBROOK – At its annual meeting held July 22, the Foundation for Senior Care board of directors unanimously voted Bob Franz to serve as president for the upcoming fiscal year 2013-2014. Franz will hold office as part of the executive committee along with past president Jack Rockwell, first vice president Bob Haliozek, second vice president Roger Shaver, secretary Dr. Doug Clements and treasurer Mike McReynolds.
Franz joined the foundation family in July 2008 when he was unanimously voted onto the board of directors and accepted the position of first vice president, serving as an officer since July 2009.
Franz received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Whittier College where he majored in business and economics. After serving in the U. S. Navy, he joined Bank of America and then spent the rest of his career with the data processing division of IBM Corporation. He served in various marketing and management positions mainly working with large manufacturing clients such as the Fluor Corporation, Hughes Aircraft and Boeing.
Since retirement, Franz has served as president of the Vista Valley Country Club, president of the Rotary Club of Fallbrook, and as treasurer of Christ the King Lutheran Church. He is currently the annual fund chairman of the San Diego Rotary District.
“I look forward with great anticipation to leading the Foundation as we continue to focus our efforts on fundraising and further development of our endowment in order to help meet the needs of seniors and the disabled in our community,” Franz stated.
The foundation’s board of directors is comprised of a leading group of dedicated residents from the community who work tirelessly with a common goal of helping others. Martha Choi, Dr. Doug Clements, Allen Cooke, Bob Franz, Bob Halibozek, Tom Koehler, Bonnie Lentz, Mike McReynolds, Rev. Dr. Brad Resare, Jack Rockwell, Roger Shaver and Tom Somers are all members of the board serving without compensation and donate hundreds of hours to help with the foundation’s programs and services.
The Foundation for Senior Care offers support to local residents with their health and aging challenges reaching out to the community through its four programs – the well-known Care Van, Senior/Adult Day Care Center, Senior Care Advocacy and Senior Care Computer Learning Center.
