Golf course burglary ring busted - victims asked to come forward

A month-long string of vehicle break-ins at golf courses across San Diego County may have been stopped with the arrest of a man and a woman in a car loaded with stolen loot, a sheriff's deputy said today.

If you traveled to San Diego County recently and had your vehicle broken into at a golf course the Santee sheriff's office is asking you contact them at (619) 956-4000. The break-ins happened throughout all of San Diego County at various golf courses.

Most of the victims have already been notified that the burglary rings were broken, but deputies at the Santee office released photos of recovered property for other recent car burglary victims to look at and identify.

Joshua Miller, 33, and Brianna Grossi, 20, were arrested about 6 p.m. Thursday near Admiral Baker Golf Course in Grantville. Law enforcement officers stopped the red Honda they were in and found stolen property from three vehicles that had just been burgled San Diego County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Joel Stranger said.

The arrests were near Admiral Baker Golf Course, near Friars at Mission Gorge roads. Two search warrants were later served at residences in Santee, where more stolen property was recovered, Stranger said.

Grossi was arrested for suspicion of three counts of second-degree burglary, three counts of conspiracy and for committing a felony while out on bail, according to the sheriff's department website. All seven counts are felonies and she was held at Las Colinas Detention Facility on $200,000 bail.

Miller was arrested for suspicion of conspiracy, committing a felony while out on bail and at least 15 counts of vehicle burglary, Stranger said.

The string of more than 20 burglaries had targeted cars parked at golf courses across the county, and witnesses had often described seeing a red Honda in the area at the time of the burglary, Stranger said.
