Authorities are working on reopening Reche Road (2:40 p.m.) following a collision between two vehicles on the roadway between Carriage Lane and Gird Road.
An emergency call went out at about 1:40 p.m. today, Thurs., April 7, reporting a head-on collision at the site, involving a white Honda Civic and a black Toyota Tundra pickup.
“It wasn’t exactly a head-on collision, but close to being one,” said North County Fire public information officer John Buchanan, who said the driver of the Honda Civic lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the opposing lane, and struck the Tundra pickup.
It was reported that the driver of the Civic sustained non-life-threatening head injuries and transported to an area hospital for treatment. Her female passenger also went, but rather than having injuries herself, it may have been in support of the driver, Buchanan said.
According to Buchanan, there were three individuals in the Tundra. “Two females and one male.” None of the three in the pickup cited injuries.
