Home Run Derby set

The Boys & Girls Clubs of North County will sponsor the Fifth Annual Duke Snider Home Run Derby on Sunday, February 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fallbrook High School’s Duke Snider Field.

Sixty-four invited participants will compete for $3,000 in prize money. The participants will be representing their local high schools. Last year’s winner was Matt Bush from Mission Bay High School. Matt was the number-one draft pick in the 2004 baseball draft.

Competition will be held in team and individual categories. Prizes for the team and individual competition will be $1,000 for first place and $500 for second. The Derby Champion will be awarded the prestigious Duke Snider trophy.
