Laughing for Dollars 2005

“Laughing for Dollars” charity fundraiser is set for Saturday, June 18, at 7:00 p.m. at the Cask ’n Cleaver. Marguerite Lorenz of Lorenz Fiduciary Services said, “As we did with great success last year, professional comedians are imported from the national comedy circuit, sponsors provide prizes for audience members and everyone has a great time.” What is different about this fundraising event is that every person who attends can drop in a card with the name of his/her favorite charity written on the back. Business cards are drawn periodically during the show to award the prizes provided by sponsors to the audience. At the end of the evening, the last drawing is done to give the net proceeds to the charity selected by a member of the audience. Your personal favorite nonprofit charity, local or national, has the opportunity to win. 2004’s sponsor prizes included $150 gift certificates and a $200 dinner for two.

Last year, the net proceeds went to the Fallbrook Rotary. The mystery of 2005 is, “Which charity will benefit this time?” There is still an opportunity to be a sponsor.
