Man's best friend enjoys Christmas gifts too - Keep an eye on pets' health – vaccine clinic Dec. 21

For dog owners, Christmas brings a fun-filled opportunity to shop for new (and maybe some old favorite) goodies that make their pet’s tail wag with glee. Filling a Christmas stocking with a variety of treats or replacing some basic supplies used on a daily basis can be a fun way to celebrate the holidays with pets that bring joy to their owner’s lives. It can also be a time to assess health needs as pets get older.

Kahoot’s Pet Store in Fallbrook offers a large inventory of everything a dog could ever want – at Christmas or any day of the year. Manager Lesley Morales said creating relationships with customers is paramount in helping them find what they need for their special pet.

“A lot of people come to our store because we provide a lot of personal help,” said Morales. “We try to get to know about our customer’s pets and provide as much guidance as we can.”

Some of the newest items at Kahoot’s that make perfect stocking-stuffers include Himalayan Dog Chews.

“They are 100 percent natural and are made of Yak,” said Morales. “They last longer than traditional chews.”

Popularity has continued to soar with Kahoot’s All-Natural Pumpkin Biscuits, a flavor that is only available during the holiday season.

“They are very wholesome and even meet requirements for human consumption as well,” said Morales. Flavors of the all-natural biscuits that are available year-round include Peanut Butter Crunch, Mint-E-Bites, and Natural.

The holidays can also be a good time to assess a pet’s changing health needs and re-evaluate their diet in order to keep them as healthy as possible.
