More power outages plague Temecula residents

TEMECULA - An outage in Temecula early today drained 411 residents and businesses of power, according to Southern California Edison.

The outage was reported at 1:19 a.m. and occurred at a location in the Riverside County city that was not immediately known.

Unlike other SoCal Edison outages where power is temporarily disrupted to replace old equipment today's outage was not planned. A problem with equipment was listed as the cause on the utility's web site.

Power is expected to be restored by 6 p.m., according to SoCal Edison.

Power restored to 7963 Temecula/Murrieta businesses and residents that lost power Friday afternoon


TEMECULA/MURRIETA - As of 10 pm, all power was back on for the 7963 addresses that lost power earlier today, Friday, March 8, 2013.

Power outage affects 7963 addresses; Neighborhoods near Harveston should have power by 1 am tonight

TEMECULA - At 4:12 pm this afternoon, in a large area including the unincorporated area in west Temecula and Murrieta over 5500 residences and businesses lost power due to a power surge. Businesses were forced to close their doors in the Winchester/Jefferson area.

In a separate power outage in Temecula and Murrieta including the Harveston neighborhood, an additional 2252 customers lost power.

Southern California Edison says the cause is currently still undetermined and the customers near the Harveston area should have their power back by 1 am tonight.

Power outage affecting 7963 addresses causes Temecula businesses to close in area of Winchester and Jefferson

TEMECULA - A large number of businesses in the area of Winchester Road and Jefferson lost power today (Friday, March 8) shortly after 4 p.m. Southern California Edison is reporting over 5,000 businesses and residents are without power at this time.

People in the area reported to the Valley News that several fire engines were seen traveling through the area, but no information has been made available as to the cause of the outage.

A Southern California Edison representative said they had begun receiving a heavy volume of calls reporting a power outage in the area but did not have specific information on the situation yet. It was unknown how long it would take to restore power.

Due to the nature of some businesses, some stores have temporary closed until power is restored.
