Noise levels may increase Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 2 on Camp Pendleton

CAMP PENDLETON - Camp Pendleton units will be conducting Mine Clearing Line Charge exercises in the Whiskey impact area from 6 a.m. to midnight, Monday, July 29, through Wednesday, July 31.

Mine Clearing Line Charges are 1,750 pounds of linked C-4 (Composition C) explosives used to create a breach in minefields under combat conditions.

Camp Pendleton units will also be conducting live-fire artillery training in the Whiskey and Zulu impact areas from 6 a.m. to midnight, Wednesday, July 31, through Friday, Aug. 2.

Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.
