Parents of two Temecula-area teens ask for public's assistance in locating them

The parents of two Temecula-area teens are still actively seeking their return after the teens each left letters saying they were going to live in the wild.

Sixteen-year-old Noah Gorelik and 15-year-old Savannah Pasco have been missing since Thursday, Noah's mother Andrea Gorelik said.

"They said they were going out to sort of... survive on their own in the wild essentially," she said. "So we're thinking that they're in the back hills or that they're on trails."

Gorelik said although the two teens both expressed an intent to live in the wild, neither brought the necessary gear for long term survival. Noah brought with him a change of clothes and some granola bars, but not much else.

"But it does sound like they've been practicing survival skills," Gorelik said. "They've been practicing how to start a fire, they've been reading about how to hunt and get water and things like that."

Gorelik said the teens' recent disappearance came as a shock to the families, but there is some evidence to suggest that they had been planning the trip to the wild for some time.

"Savannah did check out a book from the library on survival skills," Gorelik said.

Gorelik said she is hoping for the safe return of the two teens and is encouraging anyone who might have information about their whereabouts to contact the Temecula Police Department's main dispatch line at (951)-776-1099.
