Park & Ride Lot at SR-76 and Old Highway 395 closing through June 30 for construction

SAN DIEGO – Effective Tuesday, Feb. 16, Caltrans will close the Park & Ride lot at the northeast corner of State Route 76 (SR-76) and Old Highway 395 in the Fallbrook area for approximately four and a half months, so crews can expand and improve the facility.

For the duration of construction, parking will be available at a temporary lot located at the southeast corner of the same intersection; bus stops for BREEZE Route 389 and Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) Route 202 – will also be relocated to the temporary lot.

Park & Ride patrons are urged to remove their vehicle from the existing Park & Ride lot by Tuesday. Vehicles left at the lot after more than 48 hours will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Improvements that will be made to the Park & Ride include:

  • Bus shelter and bike lockers
  • Sidewalks
  • New traffic signal at Via Altamira and Old Highway 395
  • Improved drainage system
  • and additional parking spaces
The construction schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions.

The Park & Ride improvements are part of the SR-76 East Segment Project. SR-76 is being widened and realigned to meet present and future traveling needs in the growing North County inland region. The East Segment is the final segment in a series of three improvement projects to the SR-76 corridor located between interstates 5 and 15. The East Segment stretches 5.2 miles from South Mission Road to I-15 and serves local, intraregional, and interregional traffic.
