Quilt Guild to meet Feb. 3

The February meeting of the Fallbrook Quilt Guild will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, at the Fallbrook Community Center. Guest speaker will be Barbara Barber, a self-taught quilter who has won numerous awards in both Britain and the US. She is currently working on her third book and has been seen on the television show “Simply Quilts.” She teaches and lectures in Europe and the US. Her trunk show will give you a perspective on her love of color, design and quilting.

The workshop, entitled “Really Sharp Piecing,” will be held on Saturday, February 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Fallbrook Public Utilities District building located at the corner of Santa Margarita and East Mission. This workshop was developed from Barbara’s award-winning quilt “Solstice.” It is a new way of looking at foundation piecing. For more information, call Carol Harpin at [waiting on phone number.
