FALLBROOK – Brandon Gallery has unrolled and mounted a 30-foot long section of art paper signaling the start of its third ‘Art by the Inch’ program.
Carol Zaleski, curator for the ‘Art by the Inch’ fundraising effort, said that this year the gallery will add two new features to the program. Brandon will share proceeds with another local non-profit organization, the Fallbrook Land Conservancy (FLC); and to expand the project’s appeal, popular artists from the local art community will join with those selected from Brandon’s membership.
Sixteen artists, each using acrylic paints on dedicated sections of the mural, are applying his or her unique style to create one long panoramic work of pastiche art. When completed on June 15, the 55-inch-high “canvas” will be a 30-foot long mural consisting of abstract, impressionist and realistic art. Because of the Fallbrook Land Conservancy’s involvement, the mural will have a broad theme that focuses artistic renderings on “The Land.”
Painting started June 1 and will continue through Saturday, June 15. As in the past, Brandon will hold a public reception June 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. when art collectors and patrons can select portions of the finished mural for the nominal amount of one dollar per finished square inch.
The gallery will provide a selection of pre-cut mats of different sizes to assist customers in making selections.
Brandon Gallery is located at 105 N. Main Avenue, Fallbrook. Visit www.fallbrookbrandongallery.org for more information.
