Red flag warning to be in effect for areas in San Diego, Riverside counties

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a red flag warning for Monday for mountain and inland valley areas of San Diego and Riverside Counties.

The red flag warning means that there is an increased risk of fire; it has been issued due to a noticeable combination of gusty Santa Ana Winds and a lack of humidity in the air.

The warning will go into effect at 4 a.m. Monday and is expected to last through 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The Santa Ana winds, which are the result of surface high pressure over the Great Basin, are expected to subside by Thanksgiving day.
