**San Mateo Fire now 97% contained; remains 1,500 acres

Authorities on Camp Pendleton have announced that the San Mateo Fire is now 97% contained at 1,500 acres.

Marine Corps authorities have just reported that the San Mateo Fire is now 80% contained.

According to officials on Camp Pendleton, the San Mateo Fire that was reported at 11:24 a.m. Friday has now burned 1,500 acres and is currently listed as 55% contained.

San Mateo Fire on Camp Pendleton now 25% contained at 1,000 acres

CAMP PENDLETON - The San Mateo Fire (Combat Fire) that was reported at 11:24 a.m. Friday has burned 1,000 acres and is currently listed as 25% contained.

The School of Infantry-West (52 Area) evacuation order has been lifted. All personnel can return via the I-5 and Basilone Rd. gate to the 52 Area.

Evacuation orders for Camp San Mateo (62 Area), Camp Las Pulgas (43 Area), Camp Las Flores (41 Area), Camp Margarita (33 Area), Marine Air Support Squadron 3 (32 Area) and Camp Vado Del Rio (25 Area) remain in effect.

Camp Pendleton fire update; San Onofre Housing Evacuation Lifted

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - The San Onofre Housing evacuation order has been lifted. Residents in the San Onofre Housing Area 1, 2 and three may return to their homes. Residents are instructed to use the I-5 to the San Onofre Gate and use Basilone Road as the route.

The Talega Fire is now being named the San Mateo Fire (Combat Fire) that was reported at has burned 800 acres and is currently listed as 25% contained.

The Las Pulgas fire first reported at has grown to 15,000 acres burned and 40% containment. The Tomahawk fire that started on Naval Weapons Station Fall Brook is currently listed at 6,500 acres burned and 65% containment.

Evacuation orders for Camp San Mateo (62 Area), The School of Infantry-West (52 Area), Camp Las Pulgas (43 Area), Camp Las Flores (41 Area), Camp Margarita (33 Area), Marine Air Support Squadron 3 (32 Area) and Camp Vado Del Rio (25 Area) remain in effect.

Shelter in place orders for Camp Horno (53 Area), Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton (24 Area) and Camp Chappo (22/23 Area) remain in effect.

The cause of the fires are under investigation.

CAMP PENDLETON - The Talega Fire is currently listed as 0% contained. All personnel in the 62 Area, San Onofre Housing Area, and School of Infantry West are hereby ordered to evacuate.

SOI-W will evacuate via Basilone Rd West, I-5 South and report to Edson Range.

The San Onofre Housing Areas should evacuate via I-5 South and report to the Del Mar area gym and utilize the Del Mar housing gate for access.

All personnel in the 62 area are to evacuate and head to the Paige Fieldhouse via Christiantos Rd West, I-5 South and State Route 76.

Due to the current fires, the Commanding General of Camp Pendleton directed that all non-essential personnel were sent home at noon.

The evacuation orders for Camp Las Pulgas, Camp Margarita, Camp Las Flores and the MASS-3 remain in effect.

The Las Pulgas gate remains closed to all traffic except emergency vehicles. Stuart Mesa Road north of Assault Craft Unit-5, Basilone Road from Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton to Camp Horno, and well as Las Pulgas Road remain closed. Ammunition Road aboard Naval Weapons Station Fallbrook is also still closed.

The cause of the fires are under investigation.

Camp Pendleton reports new fire in Talega area; no threat to Fallbrook

Authorities on Camp Pendleton have reported a new fire started in the Talega area of the Base at 11:24 a.m. today and is currently listed at 25 acres.

All personnel in the 62 Area are under evacuation and directed to the Paige Fieldhouse via Christiantos Rd West, I-5 South, and State Route 76.

Due to the current fires, the Commanding General of Camp Pendleton directed that all non-essential personnel were sent home at noon.
