Sheriff's Dept. conducts warrant sweep in North County, including Fallbrook; 13 arrested

Thirteen individuals were arrested in North County early this morning when the San Diego County Sheriff's Dept. Court Services Bureau conducted a warrant sweep in Fallbrook, Valley Center, Vista, Oceanside, Escondido, Carlsbad, and Poway.

Officers from the San Diego County Probation Dept. assisted in the sweep that began at 6 a.m. today, Friday, Sept. 13.

"The focus of the operation was on the apprehension of suspects with outstanding misdemeanor and felony warrants," said Sheriff's Sgt. Bill Munsch."A total of 13 adults were arrested on misdemeanor warrants. A total of 15 misdemeanor warrants were cleared."

Munsch said warrant charges included: driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, domestic violence, and petty theft.

"This warrant sweep was funded by the Sheriff's Warrant System Automation Trust Fund," explained Munsch. "The trust fund is made up of assessment fees collected from people who have violated a written promise to appear in court or otherwise failed to comply with a court order."

Munsch said the Sheriff's Department "will continue its efforts in the apprehension of wanted subjects."

He advises persons who have outstanding warrants to turn themselves in Monday - Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at any one of the Sheriff's court facilities.
