Suspect sought in arson incident at Fallbrook avocado packing house; up to $10,000 reward offered for arrest and conviction

A suspect is being sought in a Fallbrook arson case that could pay up to $10,000 in reward money if someone provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.

According to San Diego County Crime Stoppers, on March 28, at approximately 10:20 p.m., a male suspect started a fire in the rear storage area of Del Rey Avocado Company, located at 1260 South Main Ave. (corner of Clemmens Lane).

"Surveillance video from the scene showed the unknown suspect pouring what appeared to be a flammable liquid in several different locations of the storage area," said authorities. "He also ignited a plastic gas can, which was discovered still burning at the scene."

"The fire, which caused only minimal damage, was extinguished by the fire department," they added. "The suspect got away before deputies arrived at the scene."

The suspect is described as a Hispanic or white male, aapproximately 5' 9" tall, weighing approximately 200 lbs. The suspect's image was caught on video surveillance, which can be accessed on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiPDnyrgmdA&feature=youtu.be

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case.

In addition, the felony arson restricted reward fund offers up to $9,000 in reward money to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
