Three bald eagles sighted in Riverside County

RIVERSIDE - Three grown bald eagles were sighted today at Riverside County lakes, during the second winter count of the bird of prey in Southern California, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

Two adult eagles were spotted at Lake Hemet while one was sighted at Lake Perris during the hour-long count, conducted by volunteers and scientists. The eagles were among a total of 14 juvenile and adult bald eagles seen in San Bernardino and Riverside county lakes, U.S. Forest Service spokesman John Miller said.

A single adult bald eagle was spotted in Lake Perris during the first count for the winter in late December. The next two counts were scheduled for Feb. 8 and March 8, Miller said.
