Three injured in collision on Reche Road at Camino Zara

Three people were injured as a result of an early morning collision today (Fri., March 21) in Fallbrook.

Shortly after 7 a.m., emergency responders were called to the scene of a two-vehicle traffic collision on Reche Road near Camino Zara.

Exact details of how the crash occurred still have not been released by authorities, but it appears that a Mercury SUV struck a Toyota Tundra pickup, causing the pickup to pushed from the roadway and down an embankment.

"In the SUV were two women in their 30s, from Escondido," said John Buchanan, public information officer for North County Fire. "A 48-year-old man from Fallbrook was driving the Tundra."

Buchanan said all three individuals were transported to area hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The two woman were taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido and the male to Fallbrook Hospital.
