"Deputies and, later, detectives responded to the crime scene to investigate the case," said Ashkar. "Two stabbing victims were hospitalized. One of the victims was in critical condition and was transported via helicopter to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for a partially-severed carotid artery."

Ashkar said that victim's condition is still unknown, but that the other victim was treated and released.
