UPDATE: Man wanted for questioning in Gopher Canyon homicide located in Los Angeles; has been charged with murder

UPDATE (Mon., July 14)

Authorities have reported that a man sought for questioning in a homicide that took place July 4 on Gopher Canyon Road is now in custody.

Authorities with the Los Angeles Police Dept. arrested Alexander Michael Wyman on July 11. San Diego County Sheriff's Homicide Unit took custody of Wyman on July 12 and subsequently booked him into the Vista Detention Center on a murder charge.

54-year old man victim of homicide on Gopher Canyon Road

Authorities have reported that a 54-year-old man who lived on a property on Gopher Canyon Road in unincorporated Vista was a victim of homicide on Friday, July 4.

According to Sheriff's Homicide Lt. Glenn Giannantonio, about 3:40 p.m. that day, "deputies responded to the 3600 block of Gopher Canyon Road to assist the fire department with a man down. When they arrived they found a man on the ground with traumatic injuries."

Giannantonio said paramedics "attempted to revive the man but were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene."

The victim has been identified as Robert Joseph Evasick.

"A person of interest has been identified in this case," said Giannantonio. "Alexander Michael Wyman is wanted for questioning."

Giannantonio said Wyman lives at the property and he and Evasick were acquaintances.
