UPDATE: Missing Fallbrook man found in Westminster

FALLBROOK - Authorities with the Fallbrook Sheriff's substation have reported that Fallbrook resident Pete Ybarra, 78, who was reported missing yesterday, April 6, has been found safe and unharmed in the city of Westminster in Orange County.

According to Sheriff's Sgt. Pat Yates, "Ybarra was located at about 9 p.m. last night (April 6) by an officer from Westminster Police Department. The officer contacted Mr. Ybarra as he appeared to be in distress. Mr. Ybarra was quickly identified as a missing person. After being cleared by local paramedics Mr. Ybarra was reunited with his family."

SAN DIEGO - Police today requested the assistance of the public to find a man who left his Fallbrook residence and caught a train north to Santa Ana.

Pete Ybarra, 78, walked to Oceanside, caught a train and exited in Santa Ana at around midnight on Monday, according to a San Diego County Sheriff's Department media release.

Ybarra has not been seen since then, according to the release. He has no cell phone, has medical conditions and cannot be located by his family, according to the release.

The search is being coordinated by the sheriff's department and the Santa Ana Police Department.

Ybarra is described as five-feet, five inches tall and 150 pounds, with straight, short black hair, brown eyes and a prominent moustache.

When last seen he was wearing a gray Seattle Seahawks cap, a white T-shirt, blue jeans, a black jacket and black shoes.
