Vehicle crashes into kitchen of apartment on Old Stage Road; woman inside claims injury as a result

FALLBROOK - Although a call to authorities was not made until shortly after 7 p.m. this evening, emergency responders say a vehicle crashed through the wall of an apartment building in the 1100 block of Old Stage Road at about 2 p.m. this afternoon, causing an injury to a woman inside the dwelling.

Residents of the apartment said a person driving a vehicle into a space in the complex's parking structure crashed through the wall into the kitchen area of the apartment and then fled the scene.

A woman inside the apartment reportedly claimed that as a result of the crash, a bottle was knocked off of a water cooler and struck her in the back causing an injury. The woman declined to be taken to the hospital by emergency responders, saying she would have herself transported by private vehicle to the hospital for evaluation of her injury.

Initial reports were confusing, responders said, because the party that reported the incident did not have full command of the English language.
