Volunteers needed for local effort

I Love a Clean San Diego (ILACSD) is sponsoring the third annual Creek to Bay Cleanup on Saturday, April 9. Mark your calendars now! Kick off Earth Month at our third annual Creek to Bay Cleanup! ILACSD will have about 25 cleanup sites throughout the county at beaches, bays, lagoons, lakes, rivers, creeks and canyons.

There will be three meeting places in the Fallbrook/DeLuz area to volunteer to help with the cleanup:

1) Welburn Gourd Farm — Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., 40635 DeLuz Road

2) DeLuz Heights (Donnil Lane and DeLuz Heights Road) — Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to dusk.

3) DeLuz Heights (junction of Daily Road, Jones and Calle DeLuz) — Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to dusk.

Please wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants and a sun hat and bring water and a lunch.

We will be cleaning up appliances and other trash that has been dumped along the creeks and roadsides of DeLuz. There will be dumpsters at each site: one for trash and the other for metal and recyclable items. No hazardous waste — for example batteries, paint cans, auto parts, etc.

Contact Ali Nusbaum for additional information at (760) 731-0580 or visit ILACSD’s Web site at http://www.ilacsd.org.
