Warrior stadium press box construction to begin soon

FALLBROOK – After several years of planning, design and permitting, Fallbrook Union High School District is nearing the start of construction on the eagerly awaited Warrior stadium press box.

Groundbreaking is tentatively scheduled to begin the first week of March. The new permanent and modern press facility will serve as the keystone for this important school and community gathering place. It will allow for state-of-the-art communications and improved player recognition, and it will stand as an enduring symbol of Warrior pride.

The Fallbrook Union High School District, along with Fallbrook Football Boosters, Inc. and other dedicated members of the community have been working for almost four years to make this project a reality.

John Ransbury, parent of a current FUHS student as well as a former FUHS football player, was recently appointed general contractor for the construction of the press box. Ransbury graciously volunteered his services to the Fallbrook Football Boosters, Inc., a non-profit organization acting on behalf of the school district to oversee construction. Upon completion of the project, the press box and related improvements will be donated to the district. In addition, the completion of this project will allow for future district consideration of other much-needed stadium improvements, such as permanent home-side restrooms.

In December 2010, Sam and Ann Logan graciously hosted a “Wild Game Dinner” and donated the proceeds to the initial architectural and inspection costs of the project. Also, in addition to Ransbury’s services, Willie Porgess, owner of Accelerated Electric, Matt Meza, owner of Will Power Construction and Lou Riddle, owner of Lou Riddle Construction, have generously offered their services and/or supplies.

Despite these very generous and much appreciated gifts, fundraising efforts, as well as solicitation of contractor services and/or supplies, continue as the project begins.

Those who would like to participate in the project financially can send their tax-deductible donation to Fallbrook Football Boosters, Inc. at P.O. Box 2645, Fallbrook, CA 92088. Please indicate “Stadium Improvement” in the memo line. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. Those with questions, or companies wishing to donate services or supplies, can contact Leticia (Tish) Oppermann at (619) 980-9343 or email [email protected].
