Work of Fallbrook artist in Woman's Museum of California inaugural exhibition

POINT LOMA - “Waiting,” a 1975 oil-on-canvas portrait by Fallbrook resident and professional artist Geri Jimenez Gould, is one of 48 selected for the juried “Capturing the Wonders of Women” inaugural exhibition of the California Woman’s Museum in Point Loma. The exhibition features powerful and poignant statements in a wide variety of styles and media, but all sharing a common message. The exhibition runs through Feb. 27.

Gould is a noted painter, sculptor and medalist with an international reputation, specializing in the portrait. She has exhibited at the British Museum, Laguna Beach Museum of Art, National Sculpture Society Gallery, and many other notable locations.

Her work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institution National Numismatic Collection, the Vatican Museum, the Papal Collection, the Southwest Museum, Diocese Museum of Los Angeles, Serra Museum, Majorca, Spain, and King Juan Carlos, among others.

The non-profit Woman’s Museum of California was founded in 1983. It is one of only five museums of woman’s history in the United States.
