Ice Age comes to life in Fallbrook
Caltrans and the San Diego Natural History Museum (SDNHM) announced that fossilized remains of an Ice Age bison were found on April 10, 2013, during construction work on the new interchange at Interstate 15 and State Route 76. Girls Rugby takes third national championship
The Fallbrook Girls Rugby Club U-18 team won its third national title at the 2013 Girls National High School Rugby Championships on May 19 in Racine, Wisconsin. The squad was comprised of 26 players led by captain Megan Pinson.
McStay family remains discovered in desert
A tragic discovery in the Mojave Desert on Nov. 11, 2013 shed new light on one of the most puzzling law enforcement cases in recent history when authorities confirmed they had found the skeletal remains of the McStay family of four from Fallbrook. Joseph McStay, 40, his wife, Summer McStay, 43, and children Gianni, 4, and Joseph, 3, disappeared from their home in early February of 2010, never to be seen alive again.
