It has been brought to my attention that at least one of the current
miss Fallbrook princesses is not even a Fallbrook resident! Is that
allowed? Not very representative of Fallbrook if you do not even live
here. Vista has their own miss program and it seems more fitting for
girls to represent where the actually live. I personally think that
most people in Fallbrook want their reigning miss Fallbrook and her
princesses to be Fallbrook residents. Can you explain to me the
rationale behind letting non resident girls compete ( and win) ?
I think that many residents of Fallbrook would agree with me that we
are a large enough town, and should be represented by a true resident!
If they live in vista, then be miss vista! It seems very unfair that
girls that are a true part of the town, cannot represent our town and
their town is being represented by someone from another town. I know
quite a few of the contestants have been long time residents and are
much more a part of the community. It’s not like Fallbrook residents
go and try to be miss vista or miss Carlsbad or miss Oceanside. Those
pageants most likely would not let a Fallbrook resident even compete
in their pageant. I know a lot of residents that are irritated that
all of the princess titles are not held by one of our girls that are
truly a part of this town.

Dear “Fallbrook citizen” as I have explained to you in my reply to your email all of our contestants are residents of our required areas of Fallbrook, Rainbow, Bonsall, DeLuz, Camp Pendleton and bordering areas. As Vista borders Bonsall and as Oceanside borders Camp Pendleton and Fallbrook, these are considered bordering areas and are therefore within our required areas. In addition, every contestant is enrolled in Fallbrook Union school district, which is also a requirement. Therefore, your claim, which seems to be based on emotion rather then facts, holds no merit. If you or any of the many Fallbrook residents that you refer to have any questions please feel free to contact me through our Miss Fallbrook website.

In response to the “Fallbrook Citizen”, I would like to clarify specifically the boundaries we base our determination on under our rules and regulations. It states to be eligible they must be a current resident of either Fallbrook 92028, Rainbow 92028, Deluz (92028), Bonsall 92003 or Pala 92059, or if not a current resident of the above mentioned pageant boundary, they may be eligible to compete if they live in the Fallbrook High School District and/or Bonsall High School District, which include areas of Oceanside (92057), Camp Pendleton (92058, 92055), Vista (92084), and also a small part of Escondido 92026, a small area east of I-15 north of Gopher Canyon. We wanted to include all surrounding rural areas where Fallbrook High School and now Bonsall High School students may live, because these kids grow up going to our schools and are involved in our community more so in most cases than the city of their mailing address.
