Caltrans to hold Open House Forum June 26 on safety project at State Route 76 and Valley Center Road

SAN DIEGO – Caltrans has announced it is seeking public participation for a safety improvement project at State Route 76 and Valley Center Road. The proposed safety improvement includes constructing a new signalized intersection, constructing a roundabout, which would be the first of its kind in San Diego County, or a no-build alliterative.

A public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pauma Valley Community Center, 16650 Highway 76, in Pauma Valley.

There will be no formal presentation. The meeting will be an ‘Open House’ forum where participants will have an opportunity to speak directly with Caltrans representatives about the project and its environmental impacts. Display boards showing of all of the design alternatives will be presented during the open house.

The Draft Environmental Document will be available for review. The document can also be found on the Caltrans District 11 website at http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist11/Env_docs/SR-76ValleyCenterISEA.pdf.

Public comments will be accepted until Thursday, July 10. Comments may be submitted at the meeting by completing a written comment form or mailed to Allie Scrivener, 4050 Taylor Street, MS-242, San Diego, CA 92110.
