Bill Ford

Bill Ford went to be with his Heavenly Father Wednesday, April 27, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. A resident of Fallbrook for the past 27 years, Bill left behind his loving wife Kathi of 42 years; daughters Julie Ford (Phoenix), Jessica Ford (Goodyear, Ariz.), Janna Russo (Oceanside), and son-in-law Chris Russo. He is also survived by his sister Colleen Kline and brother-in-law Jim Kline (San Diego) and many nieces and nephews.

Born in 1934, Bill spent his entire life in San Diego. Bill spent 60 years as a truck driver/owner operator with the last 20 years locally for Color Spot. He was a member of the San Diego Prowler Car Club for over 60 years. In fact, his Saturday morning breakfasts in Bonsall were always the highlight of his week. He loved hot rods. This passion led to many car shows where he could rattle off the make and model of any hot rod.

Bill also loved the water and sailing. This love led to many adventures cruising throughout California and Mexico. The ocean was also his home for 10 years, where he was aboard his beloved sailboat Harmony with his wife and young girls.

His wit and smart comebacks will be missed by many. Bill lived his life, and he lived it well.

“God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well.” − Voltaire
