Mr. Adelaido "El Jefe" Vega, 93

Mr. Adelaido “El Jefe” Vega, 93, passed away on January 13, 2005. He was born on February 11, 1911, in Sinoloa, Mexico. He was a resident of Fallbrook, CA, for 40 years.

Mr. Vega retired after working as a laborer at the Fallbrook Citrus Association for 13 years. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Community and a member of the church’s choir. He enjoyed music and dancing.

Mr. Vega was preceded in death by his wife, Maria A. Vega, in 2003. He is survived by his sons Marcos & Guillermo Vega, Tijuana, MX, Raul, Victor M. & Adelaido Vega Jr., all of Fallbrook, CA, Fernando & Oscar Vega, both of Vista, & Luis Vega, Temecula, CA; daughters Laura Ofelia Torres, Oceanside, CA, & Maria Delgado, Chula Vista, CA; 59 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation and rosary was held on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary with Deacon Manuel Villarreal officiating. A mass took place on Jan. 17 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Officiating was Monsignor Mel Young. Burial was at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Oceanside, CA. Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary handled the arrangements.
