Mr. Laurence Duffy Thornburgh, 83

Mr. Laurence Duffy Thornburgh, 83, passed away on February 2, 2005. He was born on May 7, 1921, in Pasadena, CA. He was a resident of Fallbrook, CA, for 20 years.

Mr. Thornburgh retired from the Los Angeles County Dept. of Public Social Services in 1980. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Seminary, Red Cross, in Montana from 1949-1950. He was affiliated with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Friends Outside Prison Liason Group, Military Miniature Collectors, and Model Boat Builders.

Mr. Thornburgh was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Thornburgh, in 1948, and his mother, Hazelton Thornburgh, in 1981. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Juanita Thornburgh, Fallbrook, CA; sons & daughters-in-law Joseph & Diane Thornburgh, Corona, CA, and Brian & Mary Thornburgh, San Diego, CA; daughters & sons-in-law Celeste & Jim Warburton, Tonto Basin, AZ, and Carmen & Rick Schaefer, Colorado Springs, CO; brother Steven Thornburgh, Calimesa, CA; sister Joyce Darbee, Long Beach, CA; and two grandchildren, Zoe Amanda Schaefer & Logan Duffy Thornburgh.

Funeral service was held on February 8, 2005, at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, CA. Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary handled the arrangements.
