Mr. Philip C. Van De Voorde, 84

Mr. Philip C. Van De Voorde, 84, passed away on April 11, 2005 at the San Diego UCSD Alzheimer’s Research Center. He was born on September 2, 1920 in Chicago, IL. Mr. Van De Voorde was a resident of Fallbrook, CA for 20 years.

Mr. Van De Voorde retired as a manager for A&P Grocery Stores after 25 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and U.S. Navy Reserve until 1967, he was a member of the Fallbrook Masonic Lodge, The Scottish Rite, Shriners & Fallbrook Carvers Club, he enjoyed wood carving, cooking, fishing and traveling.

Mr. Van De Voorde is survived by his wife of 55 years Jean Van De Voorde, Fallbrook, CA, daughters & son-in-laws Marsha & Jim Simpson, Valencia, CA, Kathy & Ken Keeler, South Carolina, Peggy & Gary Allen Fallbrook, CA, sister-in-law Tokiwa Van De Voorde, Mojave, CA, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Inurnment will be held on Friday, April 15, 2005, 10 a.m. at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery, Fallbrook, CA. The family suggests memorial donations to UCSD Alzheimer’s Research Center, 9500 Gilman Dr., La Jolla, CA 92093-0748. Arrangements were handled by Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary.
