Patricia R. Noll

Patricia R. Noll went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2005, following a lengthy illness. She was born Patricia R. Haberkost in Akron, OH, on January 17, 1921. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Henry an d Hortense Haberkost, her sister Marion Elizabeth and her husband of 25 years, Robert E. Noll.

During WWII, Pat worked as a typical “Rosie the Riveter” in the aircraft industry in Ohio. After the war, she moved to the Oakland area, where she met and married Bob Noll. Pat possessed an adventurous spirit and, with Bob’s encouragement, became a licensed pilot.

Bob and Pat worked very hard together to build Noll Manufacturing, which produced sheet metal products. Pat often talked about the early days of the company when she worked the punch presses and often came home with her hand bleeding from the sharp sheet metal. The company currently has two large plants located in Stockton, CA, and Puyallup, WA. They moved to Fallbrook in 1973, where Bob continued to run the business. Together they actively developed their 15-acre working avocado ranch until Bob’s death in 1980. Pat lived on the ranch until her death.

Following her husband’s death, Pat became an “almost fulltime” volunteer for the Fallbrook Hospital Auxiliary. She amassed over 11,500 hours in that capacity before retiring. She worked mostly weekends and holidays during her many years of dedicated service so that volunteers who had families could be at home. She was a dedicated Christian active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. She generously supported many charities, of which her favorites were The Hope School, Springfield, IL, which is a school for severely handicapped and retarded children; the Salvation Army; and the American Cancer Society. She supported the local Fallbrook Child Development Center and enjoyed buying several vanloads of toys at Christmas for Toys for Tots and Fallbrook’s own Santa’s Toy Project.

A memorial celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 434 N. Iowa Street. Pat requested donations to the St. John’s Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
