Rev. R. Hylton Sanders, 92

Rev. R. Hylton Sanders died Tuesday, January 4, 2005. He was a minister in the United Methodist Church, serving for 44 years.

Mr. Sanders was born in 1913 in Golden, British Columbia. He grew up in Pasadena, CA, and graduated from USC and from the seminary of Drew University in Madison, NJ. During WWII Mr. Sanders served as a Navy Chaplain to Marine Air groups in the South Pacific area and in the Philippines.

Mr. Sanders served congregations in LA, Orange, San Diego, and Imperial counties and after his retirement in 1980 came to Fallbrook, CA.

Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife of 67 ½ years, Dorothy Ann, and three children, daughter & son-in-law Carol & Larry Andrews, sons & daughter-in-laws R. Hylton, Jr., & Stefany Sanders, and Bruce Lynn & Kathy Sanders, three grandchildren one great-grandchild, and sister & brother-in-law Susanna & Richard Kendall.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Fallbrook United Methodist Church, 1844 Winterhaven Rd. Memorial donations in memory of Rev. Sanders may be made to the Scholarship Fund of the Fallbrook United Methodist Church, 1844 Winterhaven Rd., Fallbrook.
