William "Bill" G. Yoder, 78

William “Bill” G. Yoder, 78, passed away on February 7, 2005, in McMinnville, OR. He was born on April 17, 1926, in Los Angeles, CA.

Mr. Yoder was the son of Grover Cleveland and Gladys Hoard Yoder. He was raised in Los Angeles. He graduated from El Monte High School in 1943. That same year, he joined the Coast Guard (serving until 1946) and resided in Orange County, CA. He married Genie Andrews on February 14, 1947, in Riverside, CA. He was employed by Ace Publications, handling circulation for the publication across the United States. He moved to Fallbrook, CA, in 1972, where he owned and operated a retail paint store and screen repair shop until retiring in 1991. He moved to McMinnville in 2000 to be close to his family. He loved playing golf and would play three to four times a week with the McMinnville Seniors Group at the Bayou. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed going to restaurants with his wife. He was a member of the Senior Men’s Group at the Bayou and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Yoder, in 1962.

Mr. Yoder is survived by his wife Genie Yodar, McMinnville, OR; son Chuck Yoder, McMinnville, OR; daughter Sharon Schriber, Roseville, CA; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on February 26, 2005, at Bethel Baptist Church in McMinnville. Macy & Son Funeral Directors of McMinnville handled the arrangements.
