Citrus developer needs your support

A few months ago I covered the controversy over the Citrus Plaza project. At the time of my first report we exposed serious health and safety violations at the old citrus warehouse.

My intention was to foster a better downtown for Fallbrook residents and to prod the developer into securing and cleaning the area while his project moved ahead. Despite being accused of “yellow journalism,” all of the info in my reports was checked with state and county officials and verified by the developer himself.

At this time I believe the developer is being responsive to the community’s concerns, and doing what he can (within reason) to secure the site and move ahead with his project. I have personally contacted state water quality officials who assure me they found no pollution contaminating the rainwater in the old warehouse. You should know that the Turko Files never reported any problems related to water pollution at the site. Any claims to the contrary are untrue and irresponsible.

At this point in time I believe the developer needs your support to move this project forward for the benefit of Fallbrook residents. We at KUSI will continue to monitor his progress and report the facts when necessary and important. I believe we have played an important role in making sure the project site is kept safe and secure. Development is a difficult process, but the end result should be a vast improvement for Fallbrook.]
