Hooper will be labeled a 'crackpot'

What is wrong with the Hooper woman? Doesn’t she realize people are calling her ‘The Village Idiot’? I have heard just about enough whining from her about how she doesn’t want Paul Schaden to be on the elementary school board. We all have free speech in this country, so she gets her say and I do too. I would like to tell her, “Good grief, Ms. Hooper, get a life and stop hounding Mr. Schaden about his stroke and whether or not YOU can understand him.” No one else seems to share her problem.

The voters have spoken and the fact that he had a stroke years ago did not disturb us as much as it has apparently devastated you. Hello, he was legally elected to office and not you! Not you! Three thousand voters in the Friendly Village picked Mr. Schaden and Ms. Hooper came in last place. I didn’t vote for Ms. Hooper because I thought then and still think that Mr. Schaden has more experience and interest in our school system in Fallbrook. His three children went through the whole Fallbrook school system. Ms. Hooper homeschools her children. Why the heck does she want to be on the school board, anyway? She seems to have a personal vendetta against him.

Everyone I talk to is astounded with this woman’s behavior, especially when she gets on her high horse and stomps down to the school board meeting to raise a ruckus and demand Mr. Schaden’s resignation. During her demented tirades against Mr. Schaden, he remains dignified and professional. Her last attack was described to me as surreal, like an episode from “L.A. Law,” with her shouting in his face like some lawyer trying to get a witness to break down. Who knows what her point was, because everyone was so mystified by her performance. Maybe the Fallbrook Players would be a better outlet for her frustrations.

Mr. Schaden and his wonderful wife, Texanne, are very active in the community. They are so involved with our children that they were recently awarded Man and Woman of the Year by the Boys and Girls Cub. What an obnoxious and self-serving creature this woman is to want to recall Mr. Schaden. Does she think that the school board members could get rid of one our elected members and then just look around and say, “Hey, why don’t we pick last election’s loser as his replacement?” If she thinks that this behavior is a buildup to her running in the next election, I would advise her that ‘crackpot’ would not be a good running platform. If she keeps herself on the front page with this sour vendetta against this decent man, ‘crackpot’ is all that anyone will associate with Hooper. She says that everyone is chastising her for her behavior. Well, I hope she gets a clue.

Mr. Schaden had a stroke at the tender age of 54 while working on a terrible fire about nine years ago when he was a fire captain. He was not even expected to survive but he fought his way back every day. He has made a remarkable recovery and even though his speech is a little slow, his mind works extremely well. After his ‘retirement’ from the fire service, this man has taken the time to be involved in the Fallbrook Planning Group, the Boys and Girls Cub, the Elementary School Board and many other community activities. What an asset to the community he is, even though he is disabled. I am surprised that the Schadens have not sued this woman for her campaign to get Mr. Schaden removed from the school board because he is disabled. I would not be so civil to her if she came after my husband.
