Outdated morality ploy used to divert attention

Recently I received a call from the office of 36th District State Senator Dennis Hollingsworth. The Senator was encouraging me to sign a petition against gay marriage.

With our country at war, California facing a huge budget deficit, our nation free-falling into a deep recession, the housing crisis, 50 million Americans with no healthcare and our state resources stretched to the limits by illegal immigration, this so-called representative of the people is spending my tax dollars on an issue as insignificant to the majority of the population as gay marriage?

Most of us will no longer fall for the old Republican tactic of diverting our attention from the real issues facing us as a nation by using such outdated morality ploys.

Many of Mr. Hollingsworth’s constituents are fiscally responsible as well as progressive. I fear Mr. Hollingsworth is neither. Please, Mr. Hollingsworth, put me on your do not call list.
