Primary elections, neither fair nor lawful

Who pays for primary elections? Taxpayers. Who are primaries for? The private political parties. Who can participate in primaries? Only people of a party (“closed primary”). Some states allow “open primaries.” Independent/unaffiliated/nonpartisan voters cannot vote in most primaries.

Can you vote for candidates of two or more different parties in a primary? No. Is this fair or lawful? No.

The political parties should pay for their own elections.

We should have NO political parties but ONLY WE, THE PEOPLE rule!!!

Government and governance are the biggest crock invented by man!!! We do not need government and governance; what we need is coordination. And that is NO problem today in the Age of Communication!

Government is an archaic concept who’s time has come and gone. WE, THE PEOPLE!

I agree there should be NO political parties. George Washington in his Farewell Address warned against parties/factions starting in paragraph 16. Parties divide, cause conflict, cost taxpayers and blind people to the person’s politics (as opposed to the party of the person).

Just when I thought it wasn’t possible for Lee to top himself in silly land…….

Lee, lets get rid of any government – that works real well; have you been to Somali? Lee, who will protect you when there is no police (government function)? Save your house when the fires come (fire department – government function) Oh – enforce the GUN CONTROL LAWS (government function)? Put bad people in jail (government function)? Wow, with out the governemnt telling me I can’t I would be able to carry all my guns- long guns as well as pistols, shot who ever I wanted for what ever reason I wanted- the only thing to stop me would some one else with a gun that was faster/better shot. THINK Lee, please, do you really mean what you say? (of course you will not answer except the "fool some of the people" nonsense).

What? We do not need government???

Without the Government who would lock up our World War II vets for visiting their own memorial in D.C.?

Lee, Lee, Lee – do you READ your comments after you type? Don’t they truly seem ludicrous to you, as the rest of us? Do you really think like this or do you just like to see if someone crazy agrees, so you can say, thank you.

There HAS to be laws – or we could go any speed limit, kill you, rob you and so forth…. take a breath, re-read before you hit ‘Submit your Comment’. Where did your fear go?

@DR DR: Lee is either putting us all on, just to get a reaction or he is a contender for the silliest person on the planet award. I can’t decide which it is, but I’m leaning towards the latter…

    When one’s ideology is based entirely on feelings it is very easy to lose control of said feelings;
hence nonsense blurts out of the brain housing group and onto a keyboard….

    It’s Kinda like Turrets syndrome.

Lee distracted almost everyone from the original subject. He may like the attention he gets with some of his statements.
"Government is a necessary evil" according to some of our nation’s founders. Neither extreme works – Anarchy (no government) and communism (excessive, opressive government).

Political parties cost us $ and rights. Ban primaries.

John before primaries the presidential candidates were chosen in smoke filled rooms by the party big shots- Clinton nor Obama would have been on the ballot (not saying it is a good thing – but they are the ones the people chose)

  11. Pink   April 5, 2014 at 4:04 pm

I agree with Grunt. Primaries are costly but they are the only way for "the people" to have a voice in choosing candidates. Do we really want to go back to the days of "Boss" making the choice for us?

  12. DR DR   April 7, 2014 at 9:49 am

Obama did not win the peoples vote, but by electoral vote.

  13. grunt   April 7, 2014 at 8:17 pm

Dr Dr. He got 53% of the popular vote in 2008, and 51% in 2012. But this was about primaries, not the electoral college. Both and Clinton came from nowhere in the primaries; had it been up to party bosses, Hillary would have been the 2008 choice. the last President to win the electoral college but not the popular was Bush. (I am a Republican, conservative, but facts are facts.

Thank you grunt, I stand corrected, I probably went to bed before the final tally was out!! I presume that included the Acorn votes, that was finagled.

….not to mention all the people in the graveyards….

No elections needed since the socialists rule California. All others can please leave.
