Reasons for supporting Measure DD

We moved to Bonsall 17 years ago because we love the rural feel of this area. Knowing Fallbrook and Bonsall were growing towns, we were also excited to learn about the possibility of a future high school within walking distance of our neighborhood. Almost a decade later voters agreed, and Bonsall New Tech High School opened in 2014, welcoming the first class of 2018.

Currently sharing the Sullivan middle school campus on Lilac, BHS needs to officially relocate to the corner of Gird Road and Hwy 76 to accommodate the growing number of students as new families move to the area.

Measure DD will be on the Nov. 8 ballot. If approved, it will authorize building the permanent high school site on the Gird/76 land already owned by the Bonsall Unified School District.

Measure DD will also fund improvements including updated security, enhanced technology and upgraded disabled access requirements at all Bonsall schools as well as develop joint-use programs with the surrounding community. Living in a nearby neighborhood, I am particularly excited about the shared use fitness facilities and volunteer career center.

Property values will increase, because good schools attract quality buyers. Our awesome Bonsall school district will be complete from K-12 with the addition of a separate high school with a broad range of new technology via Measure DD. The Bonsall district website (www.bonsallusd.com) has specific information about the measure.
