Regarding Abuata's letter

I sympathize with Mr. Abuata but do not feel that anything can or will be done so long as politicians continue to be bought by special interests and there are no overall term limits in place. We are unable to vote them out of office. They will not listen to the lowly peasant but only to those who are able to produce the sound of rustling currency. Our last presidential election was about the lesser of two evils, if we did not wish to be put under the eventual control of another (foreign) government. It is also illegal in this country, be it good or bad, to overthrow the government by violence. The founders of this once great nation (with the ability to again be great) based it on having representatives being honest and forthright in government. Unfortunately, it has become an ‘I will be the best representative you can buy.’ I personally feel that the only place it can be attacked to begin with is to get overall term limits and not allow any termed-out politician to ever become involved with lobbying. The politicians are way overpaid, so they can’t use the excuse that they need the money. Most do not know what it means to work for a living, and only give lip service (B.S.) when they say that they appreciate and take to heart what people say. They listen to and take to the bank the sound of money, nothing less.
